We are so excited about how God has blessed the youth outreach work in All Saints, Danehill with Chelwood Gate!
Every week in term time, we reach out to the young people (aged 11-18) of Danehill, Chelwood Gate and the surrounding villages through TNT, ICE and H-Kafe (this one in Horsted Keynes), and regularly have 45+ young people attending. Once every half-term we run Hot Potatoes, to discuss issues that are important to young people and include the Biblical perspective.
Every Sunday at the 11am service, there is Pathfinders to help young people know and understand the love of Christ, and twice per month [email protected] – a highly informal and modern 21st Century multimedia service attended by both young people and the young at heart. Once per year 40+ young people including many non-churched, attend the Diocesan May Camp – a weekend away having fun and learning more about Jesus, this alongside circa 500 young people from other Sussex youth groups.
Of course there is much more that we do (and that needs to be done), but hopefully this gives you a feel for our heart and what we do. Although we might be a rural village church, our youth work is God blessed and big by many people’s standards.
We need someone to continue organising and leading this work and the Job Description/Person Specification can be found at the bottom of this page. In order to apply for the position of Youth Outreach Worker, please send us both your CV and a Covering Letter. The covering letter should provide evidence of how you meet the requirements of the Person Specification. Examples can be taken from work, volunteering, extra-curricular activities, etc. Please also note that there are some specific requirements in the Job Description and you should only apply if you meet these.
Please send your CV and Covering Letter to two of our youth volunteers, Meg & Steve Coppin, on [email protected]. You can also contact Steve to ask any questions on 07968 322360 (leave a message if he is not available please). The closing date for application is 31st May 2019 and successful candidates will be invited to interview in June 2019.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Paddy MacBain (Vicar)
